Bright Wine Bar’s CEO, Daniel Koczara, will be joining Amazon’s cloud-based technology group as an executive vice president, Recode reported on Thursday.
The move comes as Amazon and other tech giants are battling to lure more tech talent to its global warehouses.
Kocsara, 42, is a long-time employee at Amazon and a former Google executive who helped build a startup in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Amazon hired Kocsi as an independent director last month and announced the hire on Tuesday.
It said he will help run the company’s “innovation hub” and “bring fresh ideas and ideas to our warehouses.”
Amazon’s hiring of Kocsbarian marks the first major tech hire for Amazon in recent years.
Kucsara has previously been an executive at Google and Apple.
He will join Amazon in a new role, the company said in a statement.
Amazon will announce a new director of engineering and development next week.
